If you are a portrait photographer, or a wedding photographer, or you want to tap into this lucrative business, you need this class. Wedding photography can’t be left to chance. You have to get it right the first time. We can teach you to do that. Bring your camera. We will tell you the lenses you need, the lighting you need, and the poses that work. You will receive one on one instruction. The wedding day is fast paced. There is no time for guessing.

We will spend the day planning, location selection, posing, and lighting the elements of a typical wedding. We plan on starting at a church in New Bern, followed by outdoors portraits on the Tryon Palace grounds, ending with sunset on the water.

The first part will be in a church, starting with portraits of the bride and groom by themselves, in both natural light and off-camera flash situations.

We will then simulate the processional and recessional, followed by family portraits. We will emphasize posing to make every family member look great, and all done with speed, so we can get on to bride and groom portraits both inside and outside the church.

Then we will head to several locations that are part of Tryon Palace, the original North Carolina governor’s mansion. We will cover both natural lighting in shade, natural lighting in full sun (provided the sun is available that day), and off-camera flash. Great portraits done beautifully and quickly will be the goal of this segment.

Then we will head to the water for golden hour and sunset portraits with the bride and groom.
